Update your GPS: directions to Hollywood sign changed

Posted by Carren Jao Pineda |

When in Los Angeles, tourists inevitably want to see the Hollywood sign. They set their GPS trusting technology to take them there. After dutifully following a disembodied voice, they're often found by frustrated Hollywood residents wandering dead-end streets, clogging neighborhood roads. Not anymore, says Daily News.

In the next six months, directions to the Hollywood sign would point to viewing spots from the Griffith Observatory or the Hollywood and Highland Center. According to Daily News, Garmin even went so far as to send a cartographer here to get the lay of the land, so to speak.

If you want in on a secret shared by Alissa Walker over at Gelatobaby, you could simply set your GPS to  Lake Hollywood Park, located at 3204 Canyon Lake Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068. The trail will lead you to an active dog park, with great views of the Hollywood sign just up the path. Bring your four-legged friend along for the ride too, it could be a nice day to spend the weekend. Check out my trip to see the sign.

Taken from Lake Hollywood Park. Granted, I had a zoom lens, but it's still a pretty good view!
