On art, architecture and design

Posted by Carren Jao Pineda |

Whenever I go out for a jog, I find myself fascinated by the shadows cast by the grill fence around our swimming pool area. When I walked out a few days ago, I saw more and more types of shadows that were like little pieces of art temporarily displayed on the concrete.

I was entertained despite (or perhaps because) the simplicity of it all. The incessant repetition of lines plus the occasional curly cue put me in a zen-like mood. I relished picking out the small details from the clover detailing to the way the grill sway and bend against the strict straight line. What simple things have you found yourself enjoying?
