On art, architecture and design

Here today

I passed by this sign outside the Craft and Folk Art Museum. It read "I wish I were here." Despite what the original knitter intended, it reminded me of an old creativity lesson I got a few years ago. My teacher admonished his class, "be present!" Sometimes, our minds race to the next challenge, the next problem or the next big mountain to climb that we hardly ever stop to see what we already have. Here's my wish today then, to be here (not in the past or even in the near future), but for a few minutes enjoy now.
