Quick Fix: Goat Cheese and Basil

I had a lot of goat cheese leftover from the Roast Beet recipe, so we had to make something out of it. This super simple recipe makes me happy because it's a total no-brainer that also looks pretty appetizing. As a waiter in Mozza told us while serving pre-appetizer, "It'll awaken your palette." Sure does.



Ingredients
Slices of bread
Goat cheese
Fresh basil

Preparation
  • Slice bread
  • Add on goat cheese
  • Toast until slightly crispy
  • Cut slivers of fresh basil
  • Sprinkle on top of toasted bread with goat cheese
Cook's note
Fresh basil is awesome.
