Weekend Date 1: Chego to Celebrate!

Posted by Carren Jao Pineda |

Carlos loves the Kogi truck. Perhaps that's why when I finally found myself plopping back to the Valley after covering Dwell on Design this year, I couldn't think of a better place to have some celebratory yummy in our tummy!

Finally, Chego! It was packed by the time the night rolled on.

The vibe inside was very much like a bar. That's Carlos chopstick drumming. It even had a standing area. The floor was quite sticky too. I guess beer spills a lot in the tiny resto.

Do yourself a favor and order the pork belly bowl. It was a great mix of flavor that was part Vietnamese spring roll, part fatty pork belly goodness.

We also ended the "date" with a side trip to Scoops Westside, only a block away. Don't be fooled by the grand opening sign; they've been open since December! :)
