Free tom: Rodarte at PDC opening party!

Posted by Carren Jao Pineda |

Fell in love with the look of Black Swan? Here's a chance to take in more of it with the Museum of Contemporary Art's (MOCA) exhibition of "Rodarte: States of Matter," the first solo West Coast exhibition for fashion designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy.

According to the release: “The exhibition will explore the transitional states of garments and examine them as vessels without bodies,” said Laura Mulleavy. As such, the garments will be more than just a fashion show, but an exhibition of how fabrics can become sculptural works of art.

The exhibition includes more than 20 pieces from Rodarte's Spring 2010, Fall 2010 and Fall 2008 selections, whose inspiration range from the California condor, Japanese horror films to Boris Karloff and Frankenstein.
