Free this Fri: career talk + disco party

Posted by Carren Jao Pineda |

What's life without time to work and to party? These two events are exactly that.

Sponsored by AIGA LA (again), Seth Johnson, principal of his own design firm and president of AIGA Minnesota talks to bright-eyed young designers about what he wished he knew when starting out. Johnson shares some life lessons he learned the hard way.

After getting cold water splashed on your face with Johnson, head on over to SCI-Arc's opening of Barbara Bestor Architecture's Silent Disco, a temporary disco installation in the name of harassed architecture students, it seems. Not only is the installation an architectural project, it's also a holistic environment designed for "physical and social pleasure." Do I hear a hint of hedonism here? We'll just have to see.
