Cheap today: Slake's Lundi Gras party

Posted by Carren Jao Pineda |

Right before the sobering season of Lent, the editors of Slake LA do a little earlier-than-Mardi-Gras celebration by coining "Lundi Gras," a New Orleans-style party at the Bootleg Theater.

Expect the art, readings, music and film inspired by the land of jazz and Creole food. According to LA Weekly:

Festivities include New Orleans–inspired work including a reading ofBayouland by native son and author Hank Cherry, a graphic short story of Katrina as interpreted by assemblage artist Matjames, short films by the late N.O. filmmaker Helen Hill, the brazen beats of the New Orleans Traditional Jazz and Funeral Band, and food to get fat on from Crazy Creole CafĂ©.
They had me at Crazy Creole. :)
