LA Cleantech Corridor at Sci-Arc

Posted by Carren Jao Pineda |

SCI-Arc and The Architect's Newspaper teamed up to host a contest of ideas for Los Angeles' Cleantech corridor, several miles on the eastern edge of downtown. Instead of re-working the currently industrial area, architects and designers were tasked with creating a masterplan that took into consideration economic, cultural and clean energy possibilities for the area.

Winners were announced last October 9, but that doesn't stop you from checking out the winning entries. First place in the professional category went to a team from Oslo, Norway. Their use of a mushroom-like structure, I think added a focal point to the project while also contributing to a greener public space. Take a peek on Dwell.
