Free this Thurs: 1000 Journals at Skirball

Posted by Carren Jao Pineda |

Traci Bautista's Journal

Your sister may get mad at you for reading her journal, but no one at Skirball will do that with their "1000 Journals Project." Check out the new exhibition for free this Thursday.

Launched ten years ago by San Francisco designer Brian Singer, the project sent blank journals with cover design by established and up and coming artists around the world to be written on, added to and then passed along. These journals have traveled the world and been passed on many times. Its pages literally tell the story of the world we live in today.

View fifteen of the original journals at the Skirball and surf through the rest using an online version on the premises. Skirball will also launch a new set of journals with cover designs by ten LA based artists out into the world. If you have time, leave your mark in one of the new journals. Don't worry, no one will cite you for it. :)
